Okay, so I think in the history of 3-ingredient recipes, this is probably the most straightforward of them all. I say that because most households probably already have these three ingredients sitting on the counter (and fridge). You’ll see what I mean in a minute.
Before anything else, I want to emphasize the need for a decent blender. It doesn’t have to be an overly expensive one. I used a Nutribullet and a Magic Bullet for the longest time and they never failed me, but I did end up investing in a Vitamix when I started making large batches of smoothies. You could say I’m a little addicted, but I can say that it has helped me manage my weight while also improving my health markers, so it’s definitely worth the investment in my opinion.
On to the super simple recipe. Simply combine your frozen strawberries, banana and milk in your blender. That’s it! Told you it was simple. No need to overcomplicate things. For toppings, you have a couple of options:
Chia Seeds – Chia seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids which promote cardiovascular health and reduce risk of stroke. They’re also rich in antioxidants, calcium, iron and fiber.
Hemp Seeds – Hemp seeds contain healthy fats, plant-based protein, vitamins and minerals. They add a bit of crunch to smoothies too, so they happen to be one of my favorite toppers.
Feel free to add other toppings as well or keep your smoothie as is. Personally, you can’t go wrong with just three ingredients.
