Mom-Approved Apple Smoothie (Easy to Make and So Good!)
I couldn’t wait to get home today so that I could share this smoothie recipe with you guys. It’s for an apple smoothie that’s super easy to make but still so unbelievably yummy. Most importantly, it’s great for supercharging your health thanks to the great mix of whole food ingredients used. This apple smoothie provides a little bit of everything with probiotics, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and protein on offer. The end result is one definite mom-approved smoothie choice that’s nice and easy to whip together. Your kids are going to absolutely love it too!
Super Healthy & Super Yummy
The great thing about this smoothie recipe is the fact that it’s pretty much the exact definition of “delicious and nutritious”. The first great addition to this recipe is ½ cup of acidophilus yogurt. If you’ve never heard of this type of yogurt, it’s an excellent source of the probiotic Lactobacillus acidophilus, which is probably the most common type of probiotic. It provides quite a few fantastic health benefits for your gut, such as giving your immune system a boost, treating diarrhea, reducing pathogen overgrowth in the digestive tract, and it may also help to treat certain respiratory ailments. The use of ingredients like apples, bananas, rolled oats, ground ginger, and cinnamon almost give this smoothie recipe a hint of an apple crisp like flavor. Ingredients
½ cup milk
½ cup plain acidophilus yogurt
1 medium ripe banana, sliced and frozen
1 medium apple, peeled and cored
¼ cup rolled oats
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 to 2 fresh dates, pitted
½ to 1 cup ice
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Serve immediately.
