Kale Strawberry Sunrise Paleo Smoothie for Glowing Skin
Eating like our ancestors once did doesn’t have to involve you scouring the forest floors for something edible. Nowadays, you’re better off subscribing to the principles of the lifestyle, while still shopping at your friendly grocer for your dinner. Paleo recipes may not sound that interesting to non-Paleo dieters, but when you combine the ingenuity of foraging with the power of blending, it can lead to something pretty spectacular if I may say so myself. This smoothie brings out the wild side thanks to the strawberries, kiwi, kale, banana, and orange.
Paleo Power
Blending up a Paleo-friendly smoothie puts you in the driver’s seat when it comes to your health. There’s no dairy in this recipe, and that means no digestive worries or concerns. It does, however, have a glorious mix of fresh fruit, oranges, strawberries, kiwis, and bananas, which will be sure to rev up your engines to start your day off right, or as a pick-me-up during a slow afternoon at work. Strawberries have been shown to hold a range of potential benefits to your health and can help protect against a variety of diseases (1). A Harvard study found that regular consumption of anthocyanins, a class of flavonoids found in berries, reduce the risk of a heart attack in young and middle-aged women.
The recipe I am sharing with you today is one of the easiest and quickest I’ve ever had to prepare. Just gather your ingredient–kale, orange, strawberries, and banana–then add water and ice to a blender. Blitz until you’re happy with the texture. It may sound too good to be true, but don’t be fooled; there’s no added sugars or sweeteners in this smoothie recipe, so it’s 100 percent natural flavors. When I first tried this kale strawberry sunrise paleo smoothie, I knew I had found my new healthy sweet tooth fix.
Nothing’s stopping you from relying on your tastes and food preferences when making any of our smoothie recipes. If you think you’d prefer to add or swap out ingredients, that’s perfectly fine. We’re just happy that you’re giving them a go! Just make sure you have a reliable blender on hand if you’re going to be making smoothies every day. I like to use Blendtec’s range for a lot of my smoothies, especially if I’m making larger servings to share. They’ve always made great blenders. You could just as easily use smaller blenders or even single-serve blenders. Just chop your fruits into smaller pieces!
