Paleo Strawberry and Pineapple Smoothie (Good Recipe)

By Emma

If you’ve never heard of the paleo diet, you must be living in a cave! Ironically, this is exactly the type of diet that real cavemen would have followed. It’s no wonder why the paleo diet or Paleolithic diet is also known as the caveman diet. What would our prehistoric caveman ancestors have eaten? They would eat the animals that they hunted, fruits that grew in trees, or vegetables grown in the ground. In short, a paleo diet is all about consuming 100% natural whole food free from refined flours, refined sugar, artificial ingredients and preservatives.

The Benefits of Paleo

Many claim that switching to a paleo diet has greatly improved their overall health and well-being in a number of ways. Switching to paleo means consuming more fruits and vegetables. Fruits and veggies are loaded with essential micronutrients to help boost the immune system and protect it from certain illnesses. (1) Furthermore, paleo is an excellent diet for weight loss. The higher protein intake from good protein sources like fish, poultry, and lean red meat will improve your satiety and help your body recover from intense physical activity such as exercise. (2)

Have The Right Tools for The Job

If you’re into making smoothies, there are a few kitchen tools you need to purchase. Make sure they’re durable enough to last you a long time and allow you to work in the kitchen efficiently. The first few tools you’ll be needing is a peeler and a sharp knife to help you peel and slice your produce. Next, you need to have measuring spoons and measuring cups. Those who have a higher budget should invest in a quality digital kitchen scale. Measuring your ingredients by weight is the most accurate way to track nutrients and calories. Last but not least, you need to have a good blender.
